Why EcuaNido

Settling in Ecuador should be easy, whether you buy an existing home, buy land and build a house, or invest in a larger project. In practice the information is scattered: listings sit on dozens of small agency websites, builders rarely publish what a house costs, and for someone abroad it is hard to know who to trust.

EcuaNido brings it together in one place, in Spanish and English: properties and land for sale and for rent, new-build projects, builders and architects, house models with real prices, home loans, and guides on buying, costs and visas. You see not only what is available today, but also what you could build and who can help you do it.

Who is behind it

EcuaNido was founded by Jesper Walraven and is an independent project: it does not belong to an agency, a builder or a bank. Spanish is not Jesper's first language, which is one more reason why the whole site is written to be clear for both Ecuadorians and foreigners.

How it works

• Listings from other websites: we show only the basic facts (price, type, size, location), one small photo and a short summary, and always link to the original website, where you contact the agency or owner directly. Any agency or owner can have their listings removed at once with the removal form.
• Posted on EcuaNido: owners, agencies, builders and developers can publish their properties, projects and house models themselves, for free, after a short review.
• Building: on the Build page you ask local builders and specialists for quotes in one go; they contact you directly.
• Our own guides: the buying guide, the buying costs calculator and the visa overview are written by us and checked against official sources. They are informative and don't replace a lawyer.
• What's new: new features, builders and articles are announced on our blog.

How EcuaNido is paid for

Using EcuaNido is free for everyone, and we never take a commission on a sale, rental or construction. The site is paid for with advertising, marked as such, and in the future with optional paid promotion for businesses.
